Hello my friendlies! Looking for something totes awesome to read? Well, my Friday Reading Recommendation to all of you is OBSIDIAN (LUX #1), by Jennifer L. Armentrout

check out the blurb real quick . . .

Starting over sucks.

When we moved to West Virginia right before my senior year, I’d pretty much resigned myself to thick accents, dodgy internet access, and a whole lot of boring…. until I spotted my hot neighbor, with his looming height and eerie green eyes. Things were looking up.
And then he opened his mouth.

Daemon is infuriating. Arrogant. Stab-worthy. We do not get along. At all. But when a stranger attacks me and Daemon literally freezes time with a wave of his hand, well, something…unexpected happens.

The hot alien living next door marks me.

You heard me. Alien. Turns out Daemon and his sister have a galaxy of enemies wanting to steal their abilities, and Daemon’s touch has me lit up like the Vegas Strip. The only way I’m getting out of this alive is by sticking close to Daemon until my alien mojo fades.

If I don’t kill him first, that is.

I’m recommending this to my friendly followers because this book was so much fun to read! :D I loved the woodsy setting, Daemon’s arrogant attitude and Katy’s struggle not to let his quips and actions annoy her to the extreme, combined with the pacing and tension over the “bad guys” closing in made OBSIDIAN a page turner for me.

I bought this book on my NOOK and now I’m wishing I would’ve had the patience to wait for the print copy, because I would love to have this cover on my shelf. I enjoyed OBSIDIAN so much I went ahead and purchased SHADOWS, the prequel to OBSIDIAN. Normally I like to buy my books in series number order, but in this case I’m glad I read OBSIDIAN first (although I believe ONYX, coming out in AUG 2012, squee! may touch on situations referred to in SHADOWS, not 100% sure on that, though ;) ).

I rate OBSIDIAN by Jennifer L. Armentrout ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ (5/5) hearts for total love and I happily recommend this title and author to anyone interested in a Young Adult paranormal/sci-fi romance read with a heat factor topping the scale. Whew!
